About the Creators

The Burgy Brothers (Bud & Fud) are independent storytellers who combine real-world wilderness experience with a lifetime of cartooning passion. Fud draws directly from his years working with the U.S. Forest Service, infusing the authentic spirit and eccentric characters of the backcountry straight into the story script. Bud brings this world to life on the pages, channeling a lifelong love for classic comics and cartoons.

Who it is for…

"It’s an 'All-Ages' book, but it’s written for adults who grew up on classic Saturday morning cartoons. Think of it like a classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon, but the characters are a little older, drinking beers around a campfire, and dealing with real-life outdoor misadventures. There’s no swearing or graphic content, so kids can read it, but the humor and the 90s nostalgia are 100% dialed in for folks like us."

  • "All-Ages Indie" (Not "Kids"): Safe for a 10-year-old, but the storytelling is sophisticated enough to entertain a 40-year-old (think Bone, Samurai Jack, or The Simpsons Comics).

  • "Retro Cartoon Nostalgia": Appeals to people who appreciate hand-drawn, classic animation history.

  • "Campfire Comedy": These characters are rugged, everyday folks hanging out in the woods, making the book a great fit for adult outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, and hikers.

Where It Belongs on the Store Shelves — Not the children's graphic novel section:

  • The "Local Creators" or "Indie Comics" Shelf: Adult comic fans browse this section specifically looking for unique, non-superhero stories such as this.

  • The "Regional Interest / Outdoor Humor" Section: This book can sit right next to regional hiking guides, trail memoirs, and wilderness humor books.

The "General Graphic Novels" Section: Side-by-side with mainstream indie paperbacks.

⚠️ WARNING: ⚠️
Contains mild cartoon smoking, beer drinking, and highly questionable wilderness survival decisions.

Recommended for kids of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
