Comprised of thousands of unscaled peaks and five extremely large, very active volcanoes, the Bushwhacker Mountains—commonly known as the Bushwhackers—are one of the gnarliest, most indomitable mountain ranges in the Western Hemisphere.

Whereas the Rockies, Sierras and Appalachians have all given way to a profusion of major highways and rail roads over the years, the deeply remote, largely unexplored terrain of the Bushwhacker Range continues to stand stalwart against the voracious, ever-encroaching forces of modernization.

Despite many concerted attempts to punch viable, year-round thoroughfares across the Bushwhackers, only one meager, disaster-prone tentacle—The Avalanche Express Railroad—currently connects the ports and coastal cities lying westward to modern-day America.

Dwelling far and wide across this expansive wilderness you will find a rogue’s gallery of backwoods characters and supernatural creatures who are engaged in a perpetual struggle to protect their cherished backwoods ecosystem from an ever-evolving onslaught of industrial, technological and social-economic forces. And sometimes… each other.
